Yes, it'll be more fun eventually.
First of all, HTML & CSS isn't programming as such*, so don't worry if you don't like it.
JavaScript is programming of course, and as a language it splits a room, some people like it, and others like me, do not.
Programming for the web, i.e. with JavaScript making HTML do something can be frustrating and arduous. You might prefer trying something like making a UWP app on Windows 10 with Visual Studio.
Also, just as a detail, it's often not the language that's boring, it's the tasks we're completing, and you if you want to enjoy programming, pick projects which interest you.
* Yes, I know CSS is Turing-complete, and that's supposed to mean something, but it's not programming, and you know it.
