Should I learn C++ as of 2014?

I know how to program in swift, I plan to make my career in, but I was wondering if C++ would help?​

Learning C++ would open so many advanced and complex careers that have nothing to do with Swift, that it could harm your Swift career! On a more serious note, expert programmers are expected to know many languages well, it would not be a waste to learn all you can. I am a C++ programmer, but I use everything from Fortran to Scala at work.

No, nothing is being developed that could threaten C++. Some languages try to nibble at it (D and Rust are examples), but C++ is staying well ahead of the game while maintaining its uncompromising core values.
