EdX founders, Harvard and MIT, top the list of best global universities.

Recently, U.S. News & World Report released its 2017 rankings of the Best Global Universities, and among the top ten universities are edX partners UC Berkeley, Caltech, Princeton University and Columbia University, as well as edX founders Harvard and MIT, who claim the top two spots on the list.

EdX’s global consortium of partners is made up of prestigious universities from all over the world, fostering an extensive community of partners and learners across every continent. We are proud to be a part of such an incredible global network of institutions and to be working together in order to increase access to learners everywhere.

In addition, we are excited to share that several members of our global partner community made the top 100, including Imperial College London, University of British Columbia, Australia National University, the University of Queensland, Tsinghua University, McGill and Université Pierre et Marie Curie.

The full list is composed of 1,000 universities from 65 different countries, ranked on 12 different performance indicators, focusing specifically on each school’s academic research performance and overall reputation. We are honored to be working with universities that have such a global level of recognition and to be able to provide our learners with high caliber courses and from these prestigious universities.

Through our valuable work together with all of our over 110 edX partners, we’ve been able to empower nearly 10 million learners across 50 countries with access to the best courses from the most prestigious schools. We look forward to continuing to expand our partner network and to identify innovative opportunities that help advance our edX mission – to increase access to high-quality education for everyone, everywhere.
