On completion of a MOOC, you can usually earn a certificate of completion if you have passed all the required assignments in the course.
Some course providers offer a free certificate, but mostly MOOCs offer a verified certificate which is a paid extra. Depending on the MOOC provider you are using, Verified Certificates verify your identity in a number of different ways, including webcam, keystroke analysis, valid photo identification, and/or test centers.
Note that obtaining a verified certificate is optional.
