While MOOC-based online degree programs offer a more affordable alternative to traditional degrees, they still require a certain level of financial commitment. Fortunately, the modular MOOC format offers the flexibility to stack courses, earning credits towards a full accredited degree as you progress. Many MOOC degree programs also offer free open taster courses for prospective students to try part of a program before committing to a full degree program.

Below, you will find a list of some of the taster courses that are part of degree programs and are free to access by selecting the "audit" or free option on enrolling. To note, taking the free option does not include graded assignments or certificates. If you want to start earning credits towards the degree, you will need to enrol in the program.

Read on to discover taster degree courses in business, computer science, data science, engineering, health & medicine, education & teaching and humanities.
