    As part of Coursera’s new health content vertical, the MOOC platform aims to launch 100 new courses and 30 new Specializations throughout 2019 in order to address the skills shortage in the fields of Health Informatics, Healthcare Management, and Public Health.

    The following 10 Specializations launched in January 2019 will help prepare learners for many in-demand jobs including Clinical Analyst, Bioinformatics Scientist, Healthcare Manager, Researcher, Policymaker and more.

    Basic Science

    Fundamentals of Immunology
    Rice University | Intermediate Level | Approx. 2 months to complete

    This specialization is designed to equip students with the basic concepts and vocabulary of immunology. The goal is to provide students from different backgrounds with a fundamental understanding of immunology and the ability to appreciate and analyze new developments in immunological therapies designed for the treatment of disease.

    Anatomy
    University of Michigan | Beginner Level | Approx. 2 months to complete

    In this Specialization you will explore human anatomy using a systems approach, and a vast library of multimedia materials, so you may understand the features of different organ systems in relation to the human body’s form and function.

    Patient Care

    Integrative Health and Medicine
    University of Minnesota | Beginner Level

    If you want to help your patients or clients manage conditions or symptoms such as pain and anxiety, this specialization will provide the knowledge and skills needed. In these five courses, you will explore integrative therapies, including herbal medicine, guided imagery, aromatherapy, and mindfulness.     School Health for Children and Adolescents

    The courses of this specialization are designed to equip learners to manage common health conditions including asthma, allergies, diabetes, and seizures. Next they will learn to manage common behavior conditions such as ADHD and autism as well as learning disabilities and concussion. Upon completion of the specialization, learners will be ready to apply newly acquired skills in the provision of social, emotional, behavioral, and special education services.     Newborn Baby Care

    The courses are designed to move the learner through the progression of care for healthy newborns in the first month of life. The first half of the specialization consists of clinical provisions such as initial medical interventions and screenings, health assessments and resulting diagnoses. The second half focuses on care provided at home including transport and sleep safety, nutrition, and parental and caregiver bonding.

    The healthcare tetralogy specialization is intended for anyone interested in healthcare organization as practiced in the United States. A range of healthcare organizations are discussed (e.g., medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and public health).
