You should start by revising your goal. Notably, get rid of the "quickly". And while you are at it, get rid of the "programming" as well. Programming is not the goal, programming is a tool. Sure, you have to master the tool on your way to Gennady's level, but it's still just a tool. The real thing to focus on is problem solving. And the road to being good at it is long and hard. People who want to get there quickly will usually also lose interest quickly (after not seeing enough progress, according to their own definition of "enough") and they won't get there at all.
