1) Face you fears.
They always show the way. Laziness can also be an indicator of fear. Telling yourself 'Oh, no, not today, not now!' is fear stretched in time. If you watched some good mentors, you probably know what I am talking about.
Make a list of 10 things you are afraid of doing and start with one thing today. They should be challenging, but achievable and realistic. Find someone to report on your achievements. Or keep a diary.
I don't know what exactly happens after you have done those 10 things, but most likely you will be impressed with yourself. And maybe want to repeat.
2) Be honest to yourself.
Personal development is nothing until you know yourself and accept with gratitude. Including all your so called 'bad' feelings, like anxiety, jealousy, fear, anger, guilt, etc. Learn how to deal with own feelings first.
3) Say 'Hello!' to you ego
Who is it there pulling you ahead of your peers? It's all right, we all have this thing. When you feed it with your pride for achievement, it grows and stops any development. When you ignore it, one day you can say 'Wow, I've beaten my ego! I am... so proud of myself!' And here it comes again! Just tell it 'Hello, ego! Nice to meet you' and move on.
4) Do your job
With the greatest care. Whatever you do now, you are already valuable to the world, even if you haven't realised it yet. Even if bringing value today is, for example, cleaning the house. Look at what the world around you needs and do it. If you do your job at the best of your abilities every single day, you might be surprised with what happens next.
When you are ready, the world will assign you a bigger task.
