We are honored to announce that Ural Federal University (UrFU), one of the largest higher educational institutions in Russia, has joined edX.
As an institution striving to bring an innovative approach to the challenges of modern times, Ural Federal University (UrFU) shares edX’s mission to improve teaching and learning on campus and online and to increase access to education for all learners, everywhere.
The first course offered by UrFU is Engineering Mechanics. The course uses real life engineering scenarios to teach learners how to master the concepts of both simple machines and complex mathematical models. The course begins with the subject of statics, the science of forces, and continues to engage learners by teaching the modelling of engineering designs, standard machines and mechanisms through both 2D and 3D diagrams.
The course is currently running and open to learners interested in mastering the concepts necessary to understand the field of engineering mechanics.
This first UrFU course marks the beginning of an exciting partnership and we look forward to sharing more news about their courses in the future.
