We are honored to announce that The University of Naples Federico II, the oldest public non-religious university in the world, located in Naples, Italy, has joined the edX community. Federico II is the first Italian institution to join the edX global network of over 130 partners, providing high-quality educational content to almost 13 million learners, who come to edX from every country in the world.

As the oldest state-supported institution of higher education and research in the world, Federico II is dedicated to advancing research worldwide in its 13 subject focus areas, which include engineering, biotechnology, mathematics, agriculture and political sciences. This exciting partnership with edX marks an important milestone in our joint missions to bring access to high-quality education to all learners, everywhere.

Federico II is committed to offering a large variety of Italian-language content on edX, with 12 courses launching before the end of the year. The first four courses, starting October 2nd, include Italian Language in the World, Engineering Drawing, Programming Lab, and Understanding Philosophy. Upcoming courses will include topics such as Effective Negotiation and Communication, The Making of Italy, Poverty in Contemporary Society, and The Psychology of Learning.

We look forward to offering more courses over the coming months and to providing edX learners with quality Italian-language content in a variety of subjects.

In addition to launching these courses on edX, we are excited to start our partnership with edX CEO and MIT Professor, Anant Agarwal, joining the Federico II community at the ICEM event hosted by the school on September 21. EdX is thrilled to participate in this event and to convene with the leading innovators and practitioners in online learning.
