Interested in learning more about data science? Podcasts are a great place to begin. There are hundreds of active data science podcasts, covering everything from machine learning to data science current events – here are five suggestions to get you started.

1. Data Skeptic

The Data Skeptic podcast is one of the longest-running data science programs on the web. Hosts Kyle and Linda Polich explore a wide variety of data science topics with an eye toward unseen angles and quirky insights, and welcome a diverse cast of expert guests – including frequent appearances by their pet parrot, Yoshi. The Data Show, hosted by O’Reilly Media chief data scientist Ben Lorica, features deep dives into data science topics. From interviews with experts to panel discussions and topic breakdowns, you can count on this podcast for a hard look at the technical details of topics like neural function and virtual reality visualizations. Especially good for veterans in the data science field.

4. IBM Analytics Insights

IBM’s data science podcast is your go-to channel if you want to hear from top players in the world of big data and big business. Expert guests offer deep insight into complex topics, along with stories from their own work in the field. Recent episodes have focused on issues like using cognitive computing to stop cyber criminals and how video analytics can improve a community’s quality of life. 5. Learning Machines 101
