Overview
Skillcrush is an interactive online learning community geared towards women (although not exclusively as 25% of their subscribers are men) and aiming to demystify technology and help transform careers. Skillcrush offers 3 learning pathways or "Blueprints" in Web Design ( UX Design, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery & User Experience Design), Web Development (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and Ruby) and Freelance WordPress Development. Students are not expected to spend more than an hour a day learning, and classes are made up of video lessons and challenges with new content released every day. Each Blueprint course lasts 3 months and is made up of lessons some of which can also be purchased separately for $175 each.
Subscribers can connect to “classmates” through an online classroom to get answers and access the Skillcrush Alumni Group to find jobs, ask questions, pitch ideas, and more. Further support is available through scheduled live “office hours” where students can chat face-to-face with an instructor, join online chats, and ask questions by email.
