Self-evaluation usually tells you more about the person than about the 'truth.'

Here's how I would have evaluated myself over the years.

Year / Level

• 1 -2 / intermediate (~500 hrs total)
• 3 - 7 / expert (~6,000 hrs total at the end)
• 8 / beginner (~8,000 hrs)
• 9 / intermediate (~10,000 hrs)
• 10 - 15 / expert (~17,000 hrs)
• 16 - 19/ intermediate (~23,000 hrs)
• 20 - 29 / expert (~27,000)
• 30 / beginner (~28,000)
• 31+ / intermediate (~29,000)

So, ah, how do you read that, then?
