Overview
Founded in 1811, the University of Oslo (UiO) is the highest ranked institution of education and research in Norway.
UiO has over 27,000 students and 7,000 employees and is, according to the Shanghai World Ranking, one of the World’s Top 100 universities.
With five Nobel Prize Winners, UiO has a strong track record of pioneering research and scientific discovery. The university offers more than 800 courses in English at all levels, and around 40 Masters degree programmes and several PhD programmes are taught entirely in English.
