    The National University of Science and Technology (NUST MISIS) is one of the leaders of technological education in Russia. Founded in 1918, it is the country's leading university in the fields of materials science, metallurgy, mining, as well as it is actively strengthening its positions in the fields of biomaterials, nano- and IT technologies. Students from all Russian regions and from 69 countries study at NUST MISIS.

    NUST MISIS is a full-fledged research center and it has status of «National University of Science and Technology». There are 27 modern research laboratories and 3 innovative engineering centers operate at NUST MISIS. Among the NUST MISIS graduates and staff are the Nobel prizewinners and the USSR and the Russian Federation ministers; businessmen, included in the TOP-100 richest people in Russia; renowned film-directors, TV hosts, musicians, writers, and other presenters of art professions.

    NUST MISIS is one of the best universities in the world according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and the QS World University Rankings, and year by year it is strengthening its positions. In 2016 NUST MISIS was the only Russian university entering the Times Higher Education: World’s Best Small Universities Ranking. The ranking represents the world's best small 20 universities offering the wide range of subjects and qualitative educational programs.
