The earlier MOOC model of just watching videos has proven to have low completion rates. What we are seeing is that when we add services like coaches, mentors, immediate project feedback and community, the completion rates go up. Today, we have a network of project graders that will grade students’ work within 2 hours and they get rated by the students just like an Uber driver. Our graders have an average rating of 4.8 stars. It’s not just about content but the services too that move up completion rates. So in some cases, we get over 90% completion rates for some of our mentored courses (and sorry, yes, we can’t do this for free).
