I took the free version of the courses and I loved them.
I completely agree with others that the initial courses were really easy and for someone who knows even a little, it might appear boring. However, I remember taking the Andrew Ng Machine learning course years before and found it too difficult to continue. From that perspective I found these courses motivating as I felt that I could complete them.
So, will you be master of Data Science after this course? NO! You will more likely have just enough knowledge to start learning data science after that. Although it will give you baby steps, it will take the fear out of you. And for me that is good enough to recommend this course to anyone.
Oh and of course, I have always watched the video in 1.5x or 2x
