In a series of four blog posts, we’ll be highlighting courses available on edX that you can take as your first steps towards exploring and learning STEM – science, technology, engineering and math – skills. Read the first blog featuring science courses, here.

“Technology” is arguably the most ambiguous of the disciplines identified in STEM, primarily because technology is an ingrained part of everyone’s lives. It’s difficult to find a job in today’s marketplace that doesn’t rely on, or heavily incorporate, technology. But what exactly is a technology career?

With science, engineering and math as the more clearly defined disciplines in the STEM fields, learning about “technology” provides an opportunity to get creative in its application – try incorporating it into other subject fields that may not be traditionally technology-focused, such as music, media and games.
