Exciting partnerships

We’ve partnered with with Coventry University to create 50 online degrees


This month we were excited to announce we’re expanding degrees on FutureLearn. In partnership with Coventry University, we will be rolling out 50 degrees over the next 5 years all accessible to thousands of new distance learners across the globe. We’re partnered with the UK Government’s Department of Music, Culture & Sport to help teenagers learn cyber security skills


In July, we partnered with the DMCS to launch the Cyber Schools programme, along with Sans, BT and Cyber Security UK. The DCMS are making £20m available to deliver the programme, where teenagers interested in a career in cyber security will be able to develop their cyber security skills. Read more on Wired.

We gave away 15,000 free certificates to people in 124 developing nations thanks to our partnership with the British Council


This month the results of FutureLearn and the British Council’s Study UK campaign were published. We’re happy to say that more than 100,000 students from 124 developing nations enrolled in the campaign to receive one of the 15,000 free certificates from British universities. FutureLearn on the road


Various people from FutureLearn have been on the road over the last few months. Our CEO, Simon Nelson, spoke at EdtechX Europe to discuss the future of MOOCs. Our Chief Business Officer, Neil Blakeman, participated in a panel discussion to look at how online platforms can contribute to sustainable development goals at the World Summit of Information Society in Geneva, and our Director of Partnerships Development, Mark Lester attended the Israel Edtech Summit to discuss the higher education ‘ecosystem’.

We also played the host, with ELTjam and Enrol Yourself visiting FutureLearn to discuss hot topics in learner experience.

You can now tell us what you’re interested in by selecting course categories on the your interests page. When you customize then you’ll get a list of courses matched to your interests.

On some of our category pages you will now see topics, these can help you you can filter courses within a category even further so it’s easier to find the exact course you’re looking for.

Celebration steps


We’ve now introduced a new step at the end of each week of course. This new step is a celebration of the hard work you’ve done that week and makes it easier for you to share your achievement on social networks.
