How to manage my Study Group

As the owner of a Study Group, these notes will guide you through the different tools you can use to best manage your group.

To access the Group Settings, click on the cog wheel icon as illustrated below.



This will bring up a list of Setting options to choose from:

  1. Get New URL Portion

    2. This option allows you to create a unique URL portion (web address) rather than the default ID number. You can use a-z, 0-9, _ , and - characters only.



    Example Default URL: http://www.mooclab.club/groups/example-group.46/
    Example with new URL Portion: http://www.mooclab.club/groups/name_of_my_group/

    Note that once specified, you can't change it again.

  2. Update Privacy

    3. This option allows you to change the group's original settings you chose when you created your group

  3. Choose Ribbon

    4. This option allows you to create a group banner which will be displayed with your group. Enter the text for your banner in the box provided, then select a colour.



  4. Upload Cover

    5. The Cover is the image that appears in the main group title box. By default, this box has the title of your group on a blue background.
    You can upload an image or photo from your computer to replace the default cover by clicking this option, then on "Browse".(Minimum cover image height: 360px)
    Double click on the image file you wish to upload, then on "Save Changes"
    You can reposition your cover image vertically by placing the curser over the image, then left mouse click and move your mouse up or down. Then click "Save Changes".

  5. Upload Logo

    6. By default your Group's logo will contain the first two letters of your group's name on a blue background.
    You can change this by uploading your own logo image (minimum image size: 280px x 280px)
    To do this, select the "Upload Logo" option, then click on "Browse" and double click on the image file you wish to upload from your computer.
    Remember to click on "Save Changes" when you're done.

  6. Reposition Cover

    7. This option allows you to reposition your group's cover image vertically by placing the curser over the image, then left mouse click and move your mouse up or down. Then click "Save Changes"
    8. This option allows you to enable or disable the navigation tab links of your group depending on your preferences.

    Please note that disabling tabs will remove them from navigation tabs bar here:

  8. Report Group

    9. This option allows you to report a group to the admin staff if you feel the content is inappropriate or contrary to the group's rules.

  9. Send Mass Alert

    10. As the owner of a group, this option allows you to send a short message to your group members. (Limited to 50 characters).

  10. Edit Group

    11. This option allows you to make changes to your group's set up.

  11. Reassign Group

    12. This option allows you to transfer the group's ownership to another member.



  12. Delete Group

    13. This option allows you to delete your group
