A Course Certificate is an official Coursera credential that confirms that you successfully completed a course on Coursera. To earn a certificate, you will need to gain the required number of marks for the course.

A Coursera Course Certificate includes:
  • The course name
  • The instructor's signature
  • The logo of the partner institution offering the course, if the partner institution includes it
  • A verification URL that allows others to check the Certificate's authenticity
  • A statement that Coursera has confirmed the identity of the learner who completed the course

Coursera course certificates are a paid option when you enrol on a course. If you are enrolled using the audit option, you can pay to upgrade to the Certificate option any time by clicking on the "Upgrade Now" button on the course home page. If you cannot afford to pay, you may be eligible for financial aid.

After you pay the Course Certificate fee, you either have 180 days after you pay, or 180 days after the course launches for the first time (whichever is longer), to earn your Certificate.

After 180 days, your payment will expire. You will need to pay the fee again if you haven't earned a Certificate and want one.

Deadlines for earning Course Certificates may be different if you're taking the course as part of a Specialization or a Degree (for-credit) program.

Note that Coursera Certificates do not provide professional or academic credits unless sated on the course information page.
